Penalties pierced the UAF Nanooks tonight, when they came back from a two-goal deficit to take a third-period lead, but gave up their third power-play strike of the game and ended up with a 3-3 tie with Mercyhurst.

The Nanooks are 3-1-2 and now begin their WCHA schedule by entertaining Northern Michigan next weekend.

The Nanooks got goals from Tyler Morley, Garrick Perry and Nolan Huysmans, and 29 saves from John Keeney. But they also afforded Mercyhurst 11 power plays. UAF transgressions included a five-minute major and game misconduct to defenseman Michael Quinn for checking from behind in the third period.

Nice start for Huysmans. The sophomore winger owns 5-2--7 totals in six games -- he's tied with Cody Kunyk for the team high in goals -- after going 5-5--10 in 37 games as a freshman.
