The Anchorage Women's Commission is hosting a foster care policy event.
Over the past year the Anchorage Women's Commission has been meeting to study the issue of foster care in Alaska. On Nov. 12 from 6 to 8 p.m., the commission is hosting a policy event titled "Foster Care 101" to collect information and address issues to policy makers. November is National Adoption Month, and with a 17 percent increase in foster care placements in Anchorage over the past year, the topic is timely.
What can be done? Participate. Join us for an evening of discussion, learning and planning. The event is being held at the Anchorage YWCA at 324 E. Fifth Ave. We hope to see you there.
