ATV stolen, one injured after crash

Two young men were injured in Wasilla Friday after crashing an ATV that had been reported as stolen Thursday night

Alaska State Troopers said the driver and passenger veered out of control around 2:50 p.m on the green Kawasaki 650 four-wheeler after hitting a ditch on a trail that runs parallel to West Fairview Loop. Both were ejected from the ATV and taken to Mat-Su Regional Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries, troopers said. Only the driver wore a helmet, troopers said.

The two men are being investigated in the theft of the ATV, according to trooper spokeswoman Beth Ipsen. Troopers are not releasing their names, but said they were in their late teens to early 20s.
