The Noorvik man who troopers shot last week after he barricaded himself inside his home and pointed his gun at officers was released from a hospital Friday and is now in jail, according to troopers.
Jeffrey Henry, 40, was released from Alaska Native Medical Center Friday afternoon, eight days after the incident. He was taken to Anchorage Correctional Center, where he was being held without bail, troopers said.
According to troopers, officers went to Henry's house after they received reports of a man firing his gun toward homes in the village.
Joshua V. Rallo, an eight-year patrol trooper stationed in Fairbanks , shot Henry at 4 p.m. for pointing his gun at officers, troopers said.
Henry was then transported by trooper aircraft to a hospital for life-threatening injuries, trooper said.
According to troopers, multiple agencies are reviewing the incident to see if Rallo could have done anything other than deadly force to handle the situation.
Henry was arrested on two misconduct involving a weapon charges and an outstanding felony arrest warrant for third-degree assault, according to troopers.
