GNAC honors Barker
For the second time this season, UAA volleyball player Quinn Barker has been named defensive player of the week in the Great Norhtwest Athletic Conference.
Barker, a libero from Mission Viejo, Calif., racked up 34 digs and three aces in wins last week over Saint Martin's and Western Oregon. The performances improved Barker's digs-per-set average to 4.6, fourth-best in the GNAC.
UAA (17-8 overall, 11-2 GNAC) play just once this week -- a Saturday home match against the rival Nanooks of UAF.
