SMPS Alaska's Annual Giving Campaign Benefits Kids' Kitchen

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA (October 30, 2013) – The Society for Marketing Professional Services (SMPS) Alaska Chapter is organizing their annual giving campaign in support of Kids' Kitchen, Inc. to help feed local children.

Kids' Kitchen is a nonprofit organization based in Anchorage dedicated to providing free nutritional meals for children. They have served more than one million meals since founded in 1996 and continue to serve 50-100 kids every weekday. The fall and winter seasons are their most demanding times of year.

SMPS Alaska is working with their membership to help raise funds for this organization. They are accepting personal and firm donations for the drive and will match donations up to $500. 100 percent of donations will go directly to Kids' Kitchen.

"As a part of a community, I feel it's everyone's duty to do what they can to make it a better place to live. This can be done in many ways – sharing your time or money, mentorships, community organizing, or even simply picking up trash on the street in front of you – and without strings attached. Kids' Kitchen works hard for our community by feeding children that have the potential to grow into leaders. There are lots of great non-profit organizations but this one really grips at my heart strings" said Shannon Kinsey, SMPS Alaska Sponsorship Director, who is organizing this year's campaign.

Donations will be accepted until December 31st, when they will be presented to Kids' Kitchen. To get involved or contribute to the campaign, visit www.smpsalaska.org or email scholarship@smpsalaska.org.
