South dominates Eagle River 7-0 in CIC hockey

William Hemmen scored a goal and two assists and Jacob Smith supplied three assists Wednesday at Ben Boeke Ice Arena, lifting South to a 7-0 season-opening hockey victory over Eagle River.

Gavin Lubin added two goals for the Wolverines, who led 3-0 after one period.

Eagle River, which was playing without coach Bill Comer, who had to serve a game disqualification left over from last season, had just six shots on goal. Eagle River goaltender Justin Lopez fended off 32 South shots.
