Two couples meet for a polite adult discussion about a playground incident involving their children in "God of Carnage." Within a few sentences, the grown-ups are sniping, snarking and slashing at each other, flaying concepts of social niceties and revealing their own base instincts. Perseverance Theatre's deliciously wicked and witty production wraps up this weekend with performances at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday in Sydney Laurence Theatre. Tickets are available at centertix.net.
The bride comes armed
Anchorage Opera presents three performances of "Lucia di Lammermoor" this weekend. The emotional and dramatic story set in gloomy Scotland involves love, lies, murder and madness -- and what's considered to be some of the best music ever written for an Italian opera. English translations will be projected above the stage. The overture starts at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. Sunday in the Discovery Theatre. Tickets are available at centertix.net.
Free day at museum
Wells Fargo is covering your admission to the Anchorage Museum, 625 C St., on Sunday. In honor of Alaska Native Heritage Month, activities will focus on the museum's current show, "Dena'inaq' Huch'ulyeshi: The Dena'ina Way of Living," the first major exhibition anywhere about the Dena'ina Athabascan people. Experts on the subject will be available to meet visitors face to face, 2-4 p.m.
