Defending champion Dimond is the only team still undefeated in the Cook Inlet Conference volleyball tournament after surviving a 26-24, 25-17, 18-25, 23-25, 15-6 match with South on Friday.
West and Chugiak, which each won loser-out matches Friday, will play for the last of three state tournament berths in a 2 p.m., match Saturday.
West outlasted Service in a five-set thriller, rallying from a 2-1 deficit to win 25-21, 18-25, 19-25, 25-22, 15-7. Chugiak topped East in four sets, 21-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-10.
Top-seeded Dimond and second-seeded South both came into Friday’s match undefeated and were already assured spots in the state tournament. South’s loss dropped the Wolverines to the losers bracket in the double-elimination event, where they await the winner of Saturday’s early loser-out match between West and Chugiak.
