Regarding the update of Zack Mohs, the young man horribly mangled by a hit-and run driver on Sept. 21, 2012.
Zack is now in group home in South St. Paul, Minn., slowly mending his entire body. He has his first prosthesis on his left leg; his right leg has a steel plate and is gradually strengthening. Little by little, he is gaining use of his left arm and hand. Zack had three or four skull fractures, which have affected all of his functions including speech.
These injuries have been extremely difficult for Zack to deal with. Zack’s mom and family are with him in Minnesota and of course are great support, along with the daily therapy on his long road to recovery.
Unfortunately Zack will never be “the same old Zack.” It will take years in recovery mode. The family continually thanks all of the wonderful people in Alaska for their continuing support and contributions. A special thanks and appreciation to the APD and AFD, the Red Cross and all of his friends who attended to Zack on the cold, rainy night of Sept. 21, 2012.
Contributions are still needed, and may be made to Zachary Mohs Trust Account, Lake Elmo Bank, ATTN: Kris Young, 11465 39th St. North, Lake Elmo, MN 55042.
