If you think your property taxes are too high, this week is your chance to tell Mayor Dan Sullivan -- and he'll even give you a free dinner to do it.
Sullivan is hosting two "community dialogues" about property tax relief, on Wednesday and Thursday, after two similar events were held last month.
Attendees get a complimentary light dinner, and will discuss how they feel about the current mix of revenues that go into Anchorage budget.
After hearing complaints about high property taxes for years, Sullivan wants to explore other sources of revenue, with a sales tax the most likely option.
In an interview in September, he said he wasn't pushing for a sales tax, but instead wanted to gauge local support for it. Previous efforts to institute a sales tax have failed at the polls.
Doors open at the meetings at 5:15 p.m., with the discussion starting at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday's event is at the Bayshore Club House, and Thursday's is at the Embassy Suites, off the Seward Highway.
