Scoring goals hasn't been a problem for the Alaska Aces this season, and now they've added another forward with a history of producing points.
The Aces have signed free agent Mathew Sisca, who was released earlier this ECHL season by the Orlando Solar Bears, who he led in scoring last season.
Sisca, 23, a third-year pro who can play center or wing, had one assist in seven games with Orlando this season. But in 59 games last season, he earned 15-33--48 totals.
He split his first pro season between ECHL Bakersfield and Cincinnati and was an All-Rookie selection. In 143 career ECHL games, he owns 38-77--115 totals.
From the hockey-is-a-small-world-department -- Sisca and current Aces winger Evan Trupp were involved in the same trade two seasons ago, when Sisca went from Bakersfield to Cincinnati and Trupp went from Cincy to Bako.
Also, a this morning's practice, his first with the Aces, Sisca had No. 22 on his helmet. That's the Aces number last worn by center Zach Harrison, who over the offseason was traded to Orlando and was teammates with Sisca.
Also, important to remember Sisca was signed as a free agent. So, Orlando still owes the Aces "future considerations'' from the Harrison trade.
