The Alaska Veterans Museum recently awarded US Navy Veteran John Peck its coveted 2013 Volunteer of the Year Award. John designed, permitted and built the museum's back wall which replaced the chain link sliding gate and added security and a sense of permanence. He helped design and create exhibits, solved electrical issues, did tons of manual labor, faithfully staffed the museum during the difficult summer season (we all want to out enjoying fishing and camping) taking more than his share of time slots. Then to top all those accomplishments, he even served as volunteer coordinator!! John is our 2013 Go-To Man and is richly deserving of this honor. When you see him, tell him congratulations.
