Many Fairbanksans still without power: Days after a nasty winter storm that caused power outages around the Golden Heart City in Interior Alaska, utility workers in Fairbanks were still trying to restore power Sunday to all the customers affected. Golden Valley Electric Association reported on its Facebook page that about 1,200 customers were still without power as of about 8:30 a.m. Sunday. Meanwhile, GVEA reported that it had crews working on a variety of problems around the city. The city was settling into a predicted cold spell as well, with lows down to 25 below zero expected later in the week.
