Letters: Tennis courts may be fair option

In attending my grandson's hockey games at Dempsey Arena, I have always had trouble finding a parking space. As a civil engineer I am troubled by what the impact of a new tennis facility would have on both parking and traffic. A site plan of the proposed facility would certainly help as well as the city engineer's report on parking and traffic. Without that, it appears that parking spaces will be eliminated and more vehicles added to the already crowded area. A city tennis facility providing indoor winter courts for the schools would be a benefit. Using the provided money by purchasing the Alaska tennis court may be a better option providing the operational and capital costs are similar.
