UAA moves up to No.7 in the West Region rankings

The UAA volleyball team is ranked No. 7 in the latest Division II West Region rankings, released Wednesday by the NCAA.

The Seawolves (19-9) moved up one spot since last week and, with one week left in the regular season, need to either win the Great Northwest Athletic Conference or remain in the top eight to earn a berth in the regional tournament.

Winning the GNAC means catching Western Washington (20-3, 14-2 GNAC), which is a match ahead in league standings. To take first, the Seawolves must win road matches against Montana State-Billings (6-19) and Seattle Pacific (14-10) and the Vikings must lose both their matches against Simon Fraser (11-11).

The announcement of the NCAA tournament field is Monday at 3:30 p.m.

UAA is one of four GNAC teams ranked in the top 10, along with Western Washington at No. 5, Northwest Nazarene at No. 8 and Central Washington at No. 9.
