UAA men add 6-9 high school forward from Nevada

The UAA men’s basketball team announced the signing of its second recruit in as many days Thursday — Brian Pearson, a 6-foot-9  high school senior from Elko, Nev.

Pearson helped Elko to a 24-4 season last season, averaging 9.6 points, 5.8 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game. He shoots 3s too, hitting 36 percent of his attempts a year ago.

“As he continues to fill out physically and get stronger, he will have a chance to make a big impact in the GNAC over the next four years,” UAA coach Rusty Osborne said in a press release.
