Former Nanook Johnson bags another NHL win

Boston Bruins goaltender Tuukka Rask, 26, is considered one of the world's finest netminders.

He makes $6 million this season, the first of an eight-year, $56 million deal.

Ergo, he plays most games.

But his backup, former UAF star Chad Johnson, got a rare start today and flourished.

Johnson, 27, stopped 22 shots in a 3-2 overtime win against Carolina. That raised his record to 3-1-0 with a 2.21 goals-against average and .917 save percentage. Those are fine numbers for anyone, especially fine because Johnson is only costing the Bruins $600,000 this season.

Rask? He's got decent numbers too -- 12-5-2, 1.62, .945, two shutouts. OK, awesome numbers.
