RIM Architects – David Ziemer earns LEED AP BD+C Certification & Project Management Professional Certification

RIM Architects is pleased to announce that David Ziemer, AIA, has achieved Project Management Professional (PMP) accreditation. The PMP exam is administered by the Project Management Institute (PMI) and evaluates project management professionals on the basis of experience, knowledge and performance in achieving organizational objectives through defining and overseeing projects and resources. Requirements include at least three years of project management experience; including 4,500 hours leading and directing projects and 35 hours of project management education. David becomes the first within RIM Architects to earn this credential. At the same time, David also achieved LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) BD+C accreditation. Administered by the U.S. Green Building Council, the LEED AP BD+C credential denotes professionals with expertise in the design and construction phases of green buildings serving the commercial, residential, education and healthcare sectors, with practical knowledge in LEED for New Construction, LEED for Schools and LEED for Core and Shell rating systems. 

David earned Bachelor of Architecture and Master of Science Degrees in Architecture from the University of Michigan and is a Registered Architect in Alaska. He has 15 years of professional architectural experience. During his 12 years with RIM, David has provided project management for the National Park Service under successive term contracts, including renovation and structural stabilization work at the historic old Mill Building at Kennecott Copper Mine in Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, and evaluations of over 50 Kennecott Mine buildings for seismic upgrades. He is also Project Manager for the Huna Tribal House at Glacier Bay National Park & Preserve, and completed projects within the Katmai, Denali, Kenai Fjords and Glacier Bay National Parks. He has provided project management and design services for a variety of other projects types including car dealerships, commercial office buildings, residential, and Department of Defense projects.
