Letter: Put focus on clearing roads

If I were an elected city official, I would be very embarrassed about the roads in this town. I feel there is no excuse for the hazardous driving conditions when there are solutions to the problems but obviously they are not implemented. From driving on glare ice to the washboard surfaces, it is very dangerous. I know it costs money to properly clean streets but does it offset the costs of police and ambulance usage from the volume of accidents? I too love the pretty parks in the summer but I feel that budget dollars should be realigned to accommodate both seasons for the safety of everyone. Thank goodness winter isn't a big tourist season because, frankly, I would be embarrassed for the town and concerned for the visitors.
