Letters: New municipal payroll system costs millions, doesn't work

Every time I turn around there is something in the news about how Mayor Dan Sullivan is trying to stick it to the working men and women of Anchorage. He seems to be very focused on the unionized workforce. It's the same blah, blah, blah about the high cost of wages and benefits. The latest is about changing up the pay periods for Muni employees for his new payroll system to work. This SAP system that has been in the works for more than a couple of years seems to be a real loser. It cost millions and they have added millions more to try to get it operational. By the time they get it operational — and that is questionable — it will be outdated. Even still it will be many, many years before they recover the cost of this loser. Why isn't anybody screaming about this bottomless money pit?
