Tip leads to capture of Kodiak fugitive, troopers say

A 23-year-old man wanted on felony drugs and weapons charges was arrested Thursday after a tip led authorities to a trailer in Kodiak, authorities said.

About 3:37 p.m., Alaska State Troopers and Kodiak police responded to a Kodiak Crime Stoppers tip that Brandon Eliott Timpke, who has been sought since mid-November, was in a local residence, according to an online trooper dispatch Thursday.

After serving a search warrant at the Kodiak trailer, authorities found Brandon Timpke, who was originally arrested Nov. 14 in Kodiak for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges of driving with a revoked license and violating bail conditions. Timpke was also charged with driving with a restricted license and giving police false information, Beth Ipsen, spokeswoman for the Alaska State Troopers, said in November.

Timpke was released after posting bail, but a day later, he was charged with five weapons- and drugs-related felonies after a follow-up investigation, Ipsen said.

On Thursday, Timpke's list of charges grew to include resisting arrest. He is being held in Kodiak City Jail on two separate bail amounts -- $500,000 for the arrest warrant and $500 for resisting arrest, according to the trooper dispatch.
