The Blog has it on very good authority that the talent level in Sunday's annual Guns 'N Hoses game at Sullivan Arena will be positively stratospheric.
OK, sure, some groins may get popped, but presumably the effort will be outstanding in the game between members of the Anchorage Fire Department and UAA Alumni -- expect both rosters to be sprinkled with some other talent to fill out the rosters, and sources say some of the UAA coaching staff will play. (Man, if I'm a current Seawolves player, I am definitely there, so at Monday's practice I can nit-pick the coaching staff about its shortcomings on ice).
In any event, the game is set for 4 p.m. Warm-ups are at 3. Beginning at 2, Santa and his truck will be outside the arena, as will a pony ride and reportedly Star the Reindeer. Also, free hot dogs -- sweet!
Get this -- wear a jersey from any sport to the game and admission is a mere $1. Otherwise, it's $5.
Intermission entertainment will include a demonstration by the Anchorage Police Department SWAT Team and a shoot-for-a-car promotion.
Tickets are available at the door and also, through Saturday, at local fire stations.
