No surprise here -- at least there shouldn't be: Olivier Roy of the Alaska Aces today was named the ECHL's Goaltender of the Week.
All Roy did last week was go 2-1-0 with a 0.65 goals-against average, a .976 save percentage and two shutouts in a three-game series at Utah.
He stopped 26 shots in regulation and overtime, and all four shootout bids, in a 1-0 win Friday, then backed that up with a 24-save bagel in Saturday's 3-0 win.
So, he's kinda hot heading into Wednesday's opener of a three-game series at Idaho, which will wrap the Aces' eight-game roadie.
Roy's performances were much needed -- that 1-0 shootout win snapped the Aces' three-game losing streak and also proved timely because the club's offense has struggled of late.
