High school hockey: East and Dimond triumph Tuesday

East 3, Service 1

Scoring a goal in each period, the East High hockey team delivered a 3-1 Cook Inlet Conference win over Service on Tuesday at Ben Boeke Arena.

East pulled off the victory, despite being outshot 34-10. Goalie Matthew Purvis stopped 33 shots.

Tarini Tosi, who earned assists on East's last two goals, scored his team's first goal with 4:40 to play in the first period. He got an assist from Marsh Walsh, who scored the T-birds second goal with 1:07 to play in the second period. Justin Tapey snuck the team's third goal in on a power play with 22 seconds to play in the game.

Service's only goal came from Leo Karcz, who knotted the score at 1-1 with 3:25 to play in the second period, getting assists from Brad Kuper and Tyler Miknich.

Service goalie Angus Klancher made eight saves.

Dimond 4, Eagle River 2

Aidan Teilborg scored a pair of goals Tuesday, helping Dimondond slip by Eagle River with a 4-2 CIC hockey win at the McDonald Center.

It only took 18 seconds for Teilborg to notch the game's first goal, and the Lynx jumped ahead 2-0 on a goal from Josh Larson just before the midway point of the first period.

Eagle River cut the lead to 2-1 on Davis Schuyler goal with 3:09 to play in the first period, but Dimondond came right back to lead 3-1 on a strike from Jonathan Roth two minutes later.

Teilbog tacked on his second goal early in the second period, and Eagle River's Kyle Johnson capped the scoring with eight minutes to play in the frame.

Dimondond goalie Chris Gardeline made 16 saves, and Justin Lopez stopped 38 shots for the Wolves.
