A broken power line Tuesday afternoon left 209 meters served by the Hope substation without power, said a Chugach Electric spokesman.
About an hour after the outage started, a crew restored power for dozens of customers up to about mile 13 of the Hope Highway, said Phil Steyer, Chugach Electric spokesman.
But the bulk of the those affected still have no power as of 5:30 p.m., he said.
After the line broke at 1:45 p.m., a breaker in the substation opened and de-energized the 17.7 miles of line from the substation to Hope, Steyer said.
The crew is re-splicing the line in Hope to restore power, he said.
