Boys high school hockey: Dimond defeats South 3-1

In a rematch of last season’s state title game, two-time defending state champion Dimond put together a 3-1 Cook Inlet Conference boys hockey win over South on Saturday at Ben Boeke Arena. 

Tyler Briley, Aidan Teilborg and Jordan Clevenger all scored for the Lynx before South’s Gavin Lubin tacked on a goal in the game’s final minute.  

Brandon Sakumoto dished two assists for Dimond, which led 1-0 after one period and scored two goals a minute apart early in the third period. Dimond goalie Ashton Good stopped 22 shots. 

South goalie Kevin Lake made 34 saves.
