Why do high schools start so early? Teenagers are supposed to get at least nine hours and 15 minutes of sleep, when most get at most eight hours and thirty minutes of sleep on school nights. Lack of sleep can easily effect your attitude, test scores also your ability to learn.
A way I think that we could fix the problem is to change high school hours. Right now the hours are 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Change that to
8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. You might say that teenagers will just waste the extra time for sleep. The ones that don’t will be more prepared and well-rested for the day.
