Outage leaves almost 12,000 meters without power in NE Anchorage

About 11,900 meters in northeast Anchorage lost power for less than 10 minutes Thursday afternoon, according to Chugach Electric.

The electric company doesn't know what caused the outage that started just after 2 p.m., according to a statement from a spokesman for the utility. The customers affected by the outage are served by Debarr and Baxter Lake substations.

Crews are looking into the cause of the outage, according to the statement.
