Letter: Geese aren't the important ones

Perhaps if the citizens of King Cove were put on the endangered species list, Secretary Sally Jewell would reconsider the Izembek road project, and consider the lives of the people from King Cove at least as important as a goose.

As for Dr. Mjos, who feels that the single-lane gravel road to be used for emergencies only is a drunken driving hazard, a calamity in waiting — really? I lost track of the number what-ifs in his excuse. Should we remove all modes of wheeled transportation from King Cove residents to protect them from themselves? In what universe does an emergency road equal drunken driving?
