Anchorage police are looking for the man detectives have identified as a suspect in a shooting at a house party early Saturday that injured two people.

The shooter is 22-year-old Gregory Fort, a police spokeswoman said in a written statement Monday. According to court records, Fort faces two felony counts of first-degree assault. The assault charges filed Saturday follow two felony theft cases against Fort in 2013.

Now Fort is wanted on an arrest warrant for the Saturday shooting.

Fort was at a house party in the 2600 block of Easthaven Circle, near Boniface Parkway and Northern Lights Boulevard, when the host asked him to leave about 4 a.m. Saturday, police spokeswoman Jennifer Castro wrote in the Monday statement. Fort "became combative and called a friend," Castro wrote.

"When Fort's friend arrived at the residence, the friend brandished a gun while making verbal threats," Castro wrote. "Fort took the gun from his friend and fired multiple shots at a crowd of people inside the residence."

The shots hit a 20-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, and both were expected to recover, the police spokeswoman wrote.

Fort is described as 6 feet 2 inches and 180 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

So far, police have been unable to find him. Castro said anyone with information on Fort's whereabouts can call police at 786-8900 or, to give deliver tips anonymously, call Crimestoppers at 561-STOP or visit
