Estimated at $1.4 million. Unable to finance the expansion on its own and unwilling to incur more debt with a new loan, the church sought help through people outside their congregation, and even outside Alaska. An individual from Outside donated $250,000, and another donated $50,000. They also made a video and shared it through social media. The result has been many small donations coming in from 17 different states and even Canada. To date they have raised just over $725,000, and a little more than half has come from outside the church.

About 10 years ago, the church and its school relocated to their current location in order to be more centrally located in the Valley. At the time, limited funds did not allow for a gym to be built with the school. Enrollment at the school has increased in the last several years. The church has been able to pay off its mortgage, and with the increased enrollment the gym became a much needed addition for their students.

Fundraising started in April 2012. Groundbreaking was this past summer. They are building as the money is donated, so the completion date is not set.
