The UAA Concert Board has announced Cults will play the Williamson Auditorium Feb. 21.

The indie-pop band from New York was begun by Madeline Follin and Brian Oblivion (two names obviously generated by some kind of moody indie rock star naming machine).

Here's what Spin had to say about their sound: "reverberated, adenoidal vocals; twinkling bells and chimes; resplendent guitars; tremulous organs that evoke the Beach Boys; playful rhythms that evoke the beach."

After the breakout success of their 2011 self titled debut album ("Go Outside" is the song you're most likely to recognize from TV commercials), Cults released "Static" in 2013 to widespread critical acclaim. Pitchfork called the album "moodier," and "more atmospheric," which, judging from their current press photo, is a lot.
