UAF forges 1-1 tie at Bowling Green

UAF salvaged something from its road trip tonight, using Marcus Basara's third-period goal and 26 saves from John Keeney to gain a 1-1 WCHA tie at Bowling Green.

Basara's ninth goal of the season ties the freshman for second among Nanooks goal scorers. The assists came from Cody Kunyk and Colton Beck, the usual suspects.

The tie came after the Nanooks on Friday were shut out for the first time all season, 3-0.

Basara's goal snapped UAF's goal drought at 108 minutes, 45 seconds.

UAF is 8-10-4 overall and 5-9-2 in the WCHA, where it sits ninth among 10 teams. That's tough territory -- only the top eight finishers in the league make the playoffs.
