Longtime Denver Post hockey writer Mike Chambers caught up with David Carle, the former defenseman from Anchorage who just returned to the University of Denver, his alma mater, as an assistant coach.
Carle, a younger brother of Tampa Bay Lightning and former DU defenseman Matt Carle, was a highly regarded blueliner ticketed for Denver when a heart condition forced his retirement from playing. Denver honored his scholarship and he spent four seasons as a student coach before heading to the USHL to begin his post-college coaching career.
Now he's come full circle, and you check out Chambers' dispatch by clicking here.
