Boys basketball: Tuesday's results

West 85, East 76

Da’Zhon Wyche scored nine of his 20 points in the decisive fourth quarter Tuesday to propel West past East 85-76 in Cook Inlet Conference boys basketball action at West.

West trailed 63-60 after three quarters but pulled out the victory with a 25-point fourth quarter.

Brandon Huffman topped the Eagles with 22 points and 16 rebounds. Wyche added seven assists, and Don McMorris chipped in 17 points.

East got a boost from Desmond Johnson’s 21 points and Brayton Keith’s 14.


Dimond 69, South 62

Austin Osborne filled up the stat sheet Tuesday night — 13 points, six offensive rebounds and 17 total, five blocks and three steals — to key Dimond’s boys basketball team to a 69-62 CIC victory at South.

Carlos Diaz and Zach Deloney each scored 15 points for Dimond, and Muhamad Cole added 13 points and eight rebounds. The Lynx struggled at the line, making 18 of 45 free throws.

Jake Swenson led South with 14 points, Jared Hudson added 12 points and a team-high eight rebounds, and Kyle Rochon contributed 12 points.


Chugiak 53, Eagle River 51

Jared Phearson was a perfect 7 of 7 from the foul line Tuesday to help Chugiak ward off Eagle River 53-51 at a CIC game in Chugiak.

Phearson scoreed a game-high 14 points for the Mustangs, who took the lead for good midway through the fourth quarter. Kade Randall added 10 points.

Eagle River landed three players in double figures — Justin Patin (11 points), R.D. Dirscherl (10) and Eric Anderson (10).


Bartlett 68, Service 52

Marquis White dropped a game-high 21 points on visiting Service to pace the Bartlett boys to a 68-52 CIC victory Tuesday night.

Bentiu Panoam added 12 points for the Golden Bears, and Kage Freelove and Bradley Johnson each scored eight points.

Reece Robinson and Ihro Raguindin each scored 13 points for Service.
