Former UAA winger Sean Wiles today was named the ECHL Player of the Week after tearing it up for the Reading Royals in four wins.

Wiles went 4-4--8 and +8 in those four victories. In a 6-2 win over Wheeling, he went 3-1--4 and +5 -- that plus-minus tied a single-game high on the circuit this season.

In 17 games with Reading, the reigning Kelly Cup champs, Wiles owns 8-13--21 and +10 totals.

In Reading, Wiles plays with a slew of Alaska connections: Former Alaska Aces center Ethan Cox (4-4--8 and even in 30 games); former Aces center Ryan Cruthers (8-13--21 and +8 in 15 games); former UAF defenseman Bryant Molle (0-5--5 and +9 in 28 games); former Aces forward Tyler Ruegsegger (0-3--3 and -3 in nine games); and former UAF defenseman Aaron Gens (4-7--11 and -2 in 28 games).

Wiles has also played 11 games this season with AHL Bridgeport, furnishing one goal and a -1 rating. He's also run into several Alaska connections on that club: Former UAA and Aces winger Justin Johnson of Anchorage (1-2--3 and +1 in 30 games, with 154 penalty minutes to rank second on the circuit); former Aces forward Chris Bruton 2-1--3 and -5 in 29 games); and former Aces center Chris Langkow (0-5--5 and -8 in 27 games).
