About 10 people were displaced by a fire in a Mountain View apartment building Tuesday morning, fire officials said.

Anchorage fire crews responded at 10:35 a.m. to the 800 block of North Flower Street, a four-unit apartment building across from Mountain View Elementary School.

No one was injured in the blaze, which broke out in one of the units and spread into the attic, said Battalion Chief Kevin Keene. From there, the flames spread into the other three apartments.

"We have substantial damage," Keene said. The building did not have a firewall, he said.

Firefighters knocked down the blaze in about 30 minutes.

The Red Cross is assisting the four families who were displaced, Keene said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
