Girls prep basketball: Friday's games

South 61, Service 27

Sadie Hodgson drained three first-half 3-pointers to ignite South in a 61-27 Cook Inlet Conference win over host Service on Friday.

Hodgson finished with 14 points. Sabrina Ungaro tossed in a game-high 17 points and Taylor Murray added 16 for the Wolverines, who built a big 22-5 lead in the first quarter.

Service got six points from Kat Benfield.

ACS 59, Sitka 19

Nine players reached the scoring column Friday to help Anchorage Christian breeze past Sitka 59-19 at ACS.

Dallas Dickerson's 15 points led the way for the Lions. Bryn Tennyson added 11.

Kyla Young scored nine points for Sitka.

Soldotna 56, Dimond 51

Katelynn Kerkvliet was unstoppable Friday in Soldotna's 56-51 nonconference win over the Dimond girls basketball team, scoring 24 points and grabbing 17 rebounds.

Julie Litchfield pitched in with 14 points and six assists for the Stars, who led at every quarter stop in the back-and-forth game in Soldotna.

Tara Thompson sank two of three shots behind the arc for a team-high 14 points for Dimond, plus she handed out five assists. Royn Huss posted a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds, and Neno Martinez added 10 points.
