To mark Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church will hold a concert featuring the talents of Fabrice "Breeze" Clerger, recording artist from West Palm Beach, Fla., and the MLK Citywide Choir. Clerger will perform "The Dream Realized" and "Hold On" with the choir. He'll also sing selections from his new album, "Conviction."

Monetary donations will benefit the MLK Food Bank of Alaska. The concert is set for 6 p.m. Sunday at the church, 855 E. 20th Ave.

Clerger and the choir will also headline the citywide commemoration celebration from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Bartlett High School. This year's theme is "Remember! Celebrate! Act! King's Legacy of Peace for the World." The keynote speaker will be U.S. Senator Mark Begich. This year's event calls for bell ringing across the U.S., and it marks not only King's birthday but the 50th anniversary of his receiving the Nobel Peace Prize.

Pacific Northern Academy's middle school students will host a Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration at 11 a.m. Monday at 9251 Lake Otis Parkway.

The celebration will feature an original presentation by PNA students, excerpts of Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech and performances of "Imagine" by John Lennon, "Carry On" by Fun and "One Light, One Sun" by Raffi.

Pacific Northern Academy embraces the opportunity to celebrate Dr. King's life work. PNA encourages Anchorage families to attend in observance of the holiday.
