Letter: All parents pay for public schools

Timothy Sell and Mary Spalding wrote in concerning funding for church schools. My grandchildren attended a Christian school here in Anchorage for eight years. My son paid good money out of his pocket for their education. Not one cent came from the state, nor do the Christian schools in Anchorage get a cent from the state now.

However, the people whose children do attend these schools, as well as the parents of all the home-schooled children, pay taxes exactly like everyone else and those taxes go to support the Anchorage School District. Every year the distirct is crying for more money. What happened to the extra money from last year when there was a drop in students?

Stop blaming the Christian schools and thank God all those parents pay taxes to support your children's schools!
