Nikiski man seriously injured in rollover crash

A 30-year-old man was flown to Anchorage with life-threatening injuries Wednesday night after a rollover crash on the Kenai Spur Highway, said Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers said Christopher Overhuls, of Nikiski, was driving a 2000 Ford Mustang when he lost control of the car, left the roadway and crashed through a fence near the old Agrium Corp. fertilizer plant.

Someone called 911 to report the crash shortly before 10 p.m. Troopers responded to Mile 21.2 of the highway near Miller Loop, and Overhuls was flown to Providence Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries, troopers said.

Troopers said Overhuls was wearing a seat belt. Investigation is ongoing.
