Prep hockey: Results of Friday's prep games

BOYS PREP HOCKEY

West 16, East 0

Garen Teders and Austin Walker scored hat tricks Friday night in West's 16-0 Cook Inlet Conference rout of East in a hockey game at Ben Boeke Arena that featured 18 penalties, 10 by the winners.

Enjoying two-goal games for West were Ilya Turchaninov and Ryder Schwamm. Joe Chekan and Spencer Robinson combined for nine saves.

The Eagle fired 59 shots at East goaltender Blake Henderson, who stopped 16 in the first period, 18 in the second and nine in the third.

Girls hockey finale Saturday

Jaden Trboyevich notched a hat trick and goaltender Vandalyn Hudson turned aside nine of 10 shots to help Bartlett-South/Service-East crush Chugiak-Eagle River 7-1 in the girls high school hockey tournament Friday at Dempsey Anderson Ice Arena.

The win advanced Bartlett-South/Service-East to Saturday's 3 p.m. state championship game at Ben Boeke against Dimond-West.

Trboyevich's three goals spotted the winners to a 4-0 lead after two periods. Other goals came from Kivalina Miller, Morgan Hill, Melanie Barteinstein and Ivy Weeks. Kehanne Hansen contributed two assists for the winners, who had 20 players on their roster to Chugiak-Eagle River's 11.

Chugiak-Eagle River's lone senior, Sam Perez , ended her high school career with a third period goal off Daylie Hislop's pass to cut the score to 4-1. Arika Mercer turned aside 25 of 32 shots in the loss.
