UAA senior Micah Chelimo ran to victory in the men’s one-mile race Saturday at the Ed Jacoby Invitational indoor track and field meet in Nampa, Idaho
Chelimo’s time of 4:15.86 qualified him provisionally for the NCAA Division II indoor championships in March.
Three other Seawolves posted provisional qualifying mark — Ethan Hewitt in the men’s 400, Cody Thomas in the men’s heptathlon and Jamie Ashcroft in the women’s 200.
Hewitt’s time of 48.65 broke his own school record of 48.84, set a year ago. He finished second in the race.
Ashcroft set a school record in the 200 with her third-place time of 24.89, which eclipsed the 25.2 set a year ago by Rosie Smith.
Thomas, who placed fourth in heptathlon, scored 4,805 points to qualify provisionally for the national championships; the automatic qualifying mark is 5,250.
