UAA gymnasts score season-best in Missouri

The UAA gymnastics team broke the 190-point barrier for the second time this season Sunday in a tri-meet at Southeast Missouri.

Sophomore all-arounder Stefany Bryan scored 37.9 points to lead the Seawolves to a season-high score of 190.325. Southeast Missouri won with 194.075 and Illinois-Chicago was second with 193.475.

Morgan Cook's fourth-place finish in the balance beam, where she scored 9.6 points, was the top finish for the Seawolves.

Bryan and freshman Kallie Randolph posted UAA's highest scores. Their identical scores of 9.725 in floor exercise were career-bests for both gymnasts.

On bars, Simone Penker and Marie-Sophie Boggasch led UAA with 9.65s, and Julia York produced UAA's best vault of the day with a 9.6.

The Seawolves are in town next week for a Sunday meet against UC-Davis at 2 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex.
