'Prince Igor' at theaters Saturday

The Metropolitan Opera's production of Borodin's "Prince Igor" will be shown at Regal Tikahtnu and Century 16 theaters at 12:55 p.m. March 1. There have always been issues with the work, left unfinished when Borodin died, and it's best known for it's fabulous dance music, a regular staple of concert repertoire and used for the popular song, "Hold My Hand, I'm a Stranger in Paradise."

The new production tries to straighten out the tangle of possibilities left by the composer by reworking the order of things in it's first staging in almost a century.

The performance will be repeated at 2 p.m. Sunday on KLEF radio and return to local theaters for one show at 6:30 p.m. on March 4
