Letter: School funding a must

When the teachers talk, we expect our students to listen. Pay attention. Learn. I am baffled that in this debate about ASD funding, the voices of our teachers are being disregarded.

It is not about job security. At my son's public school, I've asked teachers what they want and the responses range from gardens to Legos. They want more learning events which include families. They want more resources to support the learning community. The teachers have pride in public schools and can envision more.

We can show our appreciation to public school teachers as they focus on our students. Keep funding in our public schools and support a meaningful increase to the BSA.
