Local chapter of Association of Fundraising Professionals honored

ANCHORAGE- AK: The Association of Fundraising Professionals Alaska Chapter president, Beth Rose, is pleased to announce the Alaska Chapter has received the prestigious Ten Star Gold Award from AFP International. The Ten Star Gold Award is the highest recognition given to local chapters who have achieved many of the key objectives and goals outlined in the international organization's strategic plan. The Alaska Chapter is one of 28 chapters among 235 worldwide to receive this distinction.

Rose says, "I am proud of the work the AFP Alaska Chapter has done to advance philanthropy in our community and state. This award is only possible through the active involvement of board members, our chapter administrator and the efforts of our more than 120 members that we are able to accomplish so much."

The Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents more than 31,000 fundraising professionals throughout the world, working to advance philanthropy though advocacy, research, education and certification programs. The AFP Alaska Chapter has more than 120 active members. The mission of AFP Alaska Chapter is to set the standard of excellence in fundraising and philanthropy statewide through the practice of effective and ethical professional fundraising.

Since 1960, AFP has inspired global change and supported efforts that generated over $1 trillion. AFP's nearly 30,000 individual and organizational members raise over $100 billion annually, equivalent to one-third of all charitable giving in North America and millions more around the world.
