Frostbite Footrace and Costume Fun Run
9:30 a.m. -- Dress up for this 5-K or 2.5-K fun run starting at the Fifth Avenue Skywalk at the Egan Center. Feeling a little too frosty? There will be a warm-up before and after the race at the Glacier Brewhouse.
GCI Snow Sculpture Competition
10 a.m.-10 p.m. -- Teams have worked all week to create sculptures out of 8-foot-tall blocks of compressed snow. Check out the results and cast your vote for people's choice. On Ship Creek Avenue across from Comfort Inn
Rondy Grand Parade
10:30 a.m. -- Dig out a warm jacket (this is a great time to bust out the fur if you have it), pack a thermos of hot cocoa and take in the Grand Parade down Fifth and Sixth Avenue.
Rondy World Championship Sled Dog Races
Noon -- Fur Rondy's premier event pits sprint mushing teams against one another on a 25-mile route that winds through the city. Starts at Fourth Avenue and D Street on Saturday and Sunday.
Rondy on Ice
3 p.m. -- Presented by the Anchorage Figure Skating Club, this family-oriented show features music through film history to the present day that made the silver screen epic. Tickets $12.50-$$25. UAA Wells Fargo Sports Complex, 2801 Spirit Way
Outhouse Races
4 p.m. -- In one of Rondy's most highly anticipated events, costumed teams construct outhouses to race down Fourth Avenue. Awards will be given for speed and also for divisions including cleanest, best architecture and "most realistic." Fourth Avenue, between E and F streets
AT&T Fireworks Extravaganza
6:45 p.m. -- Fireworks will light up the sky above downtown for this annual blowout. Ship Creek, Small Boat Harbor
Rondy Melodrama, "The Alask- Avengers vs. Dr. Despicable"
8 p.m. -- In this year's Melodrama, the AlaskAvengers, Dr. Despicable and Minions find out what happens when superheroes and supervillains lose their super powers. Be prepared to cheer, boo and throw popcorn. Snow Goose Theater, 717 W. Third Ave. Tickets $18-$23, shows throughout the week.
