Two people were hospitalized, one of them in critical condition, after a crash that closed outbound lanes of the Glenn Highway at the North Birchwood exit early Sunday, Anchorage police said.
At 2:20 a.m., police received a report of a single-vehicle rollover accident, and that a man was in the middle of the road, said an email from police spokeswoman Dani Myren.
The vehicle, a Saturn SUV, apparently lost control at the exit, police said.
The driver, a 23-year-old man, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Myren said.
A passenger, a 21-year-old woman, was also taken a hospital with minor injuries, police said.
Police had not identified the two people early Sunday.
The outbound lanes were closed and reopened around 4:30 a.m., Myren said.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
